Note:  Exploration of Progress and Poverty
Following HGF’s successful Open Event held on the 23 September in celebration of the launch, in the UK, of the new Annotated Edition of Progress and Poverty, we shall during the Autumn term,  explore this work alongside earlier editions including the Condensed Centenary Edition published by The Henry George Foundation of Great Britain in 1953. The new annotated edition provides an up-to-date commentary and summary of the arguments George advanced in advocating a remedy to the problems, which are still with us today, of poverty, financial instability and extreme economic inequality:  these problems still continuing in spite of the advances leading to rising productivity and technological progress. It also provides notes that the changes George made in his lifetime and the many references he made to history, literature, economics and public policy.

The Group will continue reading The Science of Political Economy by Henry George, with occasional visiting speakers on topics including Alexander Pope.
