In this course we shall study the nature, forms and functions of money and credit together with the related roles of Banks, Governments and International Institutions.
We shall examine recent developments, and in particular those influences that have led up to the current financial and economic crisis. We shall also explore relevant historical developments together with the ideas, theories and beliefs that have underpinned the way that governments have interacted with private banks together with the broader economic context in which governments must operate.
