Roy is currently preparing a very short book aimed at attracting an interest in LVT from young people and others who have never heard of it. In his talk Roy will outline and illustrate the content and style he proposes and will welcome input from the audience. His provisional title is ‘Why Land Matters Today’ and individual chapters outline and discuss:The Problem – Poverty, Unemployment, Housing etc.; The. Use of Terms; Good and Bad Taxes; Addressing Causes and Effects of Poverty; Urban and Rural Issues; Booms and Slumps; Land beyond ‘Terra Firma’: Moral Issues. He will ask ‘Why haven’t we got LVT?. His ideas should provide a basis for an instructive, interesting, and entertaining afternoon.
