Tolstoy

The Henry George Foundation of Great Britain

Is pleased to extend an invitation to a talk by

MIRTA OSORIO de LIMA

ON
HENRY GEORGE’S
INFLUENCE ON
LEO TOLSTOY

Having been born and brought up in Colombia Mirta Osrio’s first language is
Spanish but she tells us she learned and read about Leo Tolstoy and Henry
George whilst living in London during the 1970‘s. She joined a school of
philosophy 22 years ago and this led her to see all the well known thinkers
from a humanist point of view. On the occasion of the centennial of Tolstoy’s
death in 2010 she gave a talk and wrote an article in Spanish pointing out how
Henry George had made such an impact on Leo Tolstoy that his novel
RESURRECTION included George’s proposal of an Agrarian Reform. She has
now translated both into English and in this talk will share them with us.
