‘THE STATE OF THE ECONOMY’

 

David Triggs will report on this high profile conference, scheduled for 26th February at The Institute of Directors, London, where, given that we are in ‘uncertain times’, leading bankers, economists and financial experts are expected to present their views on ‘the prospects for the international economy’ .

The Keynote Address is to be given by Rachel Lomax, Deputy Governer Monetary Policy, Bank of England. Other speakers and session chairman include: Roger Bootle, Managing Director, Capital Economics; Richard Barkham, Group Research Director, Grosvenor; Ross Walker, UK Economist, RBS Financial Markets; Lionel Barber, Editor, Financial Times; Lord Forsyth, Senior Managing Director, Evercore Partners and Chairman – Tax Reform Commission; Graeme Leach, Chief Economist & Director of Policy, Institute of Directors; Steve Hanke, Professor of Applied Economics, John Hopkins University; Charles Dumas, Director, Lombard Street Research; Professor Philip Booth, Editorial and Programme Director, IEA.

The HGF Library Group meet most Fridays for lunch at 1.00pm at the Pizza Express, Thayer St. and for discussion or administrative work in the afternoons – all welcome. Please advise David Triggs (Via Contact Us Link) if joining us for lunch so that numbers can be booked. Meeting sponsored by The Henry George Foundation of Great Britain

Members, Supporters and Friends of the Foundation meet most Friday afternoons from 2.30 to 4.30pm, in the library at 11 Mandeville Place. W1U 3AJ  [Location Information]

Some also come for lunch at 1.00pm at the Pizza Express nearby in Thayer Street.

Activities vary from formal meetings with a speaker and specific subject matter to informal clusters of friends engaging in conversations around matters economic.

From time to time we have a film show or undertake a visit to somewhere of interest in London. We also attend to administrative affairs of the Foundation and pack and post each edition of Land and Liberty Magazine.
